I moved to Chico in 2001 with my wife, Jennifer and Son, Sawyer and shortly there after my family was complete with the birth of my daughter, Sunny. I was in private practice at Argyll medical group until 2007 when I joined Chico hospitalist group.
We were attracted to Chico because of our joy in the mini outdoor activities that this area has to offer. Chico has been very good to us. We have especially enjoyed the open and friendly attitude of the people here and the surprisingly fast array of cultural activities available here.
I have also enjoyed the opportunities that Enloe hospital has to offer and have contributed for my part in medical staff leader ship including having served as chief of staff and as a board member on Enloe‘s board of trustees for 10 years.
I have been honored to serve with Chico hospitalist group and I’m proud of this very capable group of partners. I would be more than happy to have any one of my partners take care of my medical needs or that of my family’s. We are a very cohesive group of physicians and it seems our group is marked by collaboration and cooperation with the goal of excellent patient care and an eye toward Quality.

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I finished my undergraduate degree at UCLA with a major in bioengineering, and then ventured outside of California to pursue medicine at Jagiellonian University Medical College in Krakow, Poland. As a Polish American, I was grateful for the opportunity to live and study medicine in the country of my parents’ birth. I then moved back to the states and completed an Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center with the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, Illinois.
I enjoy traveling, outdoor activities, including hiking, kayaking, biking, and running; dabbles in photography; and enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.

I am deeply touched by the very thought that I can make a big difference in someone’s life by applying the knowledge of medicine that I have come to learn over the years. I practiced medicine in my home country of Iran for over five years after I graduated from medical school, including two years of residency in General surgery.
I immigrated to the United States in 2012 and completed three years of Residency in Internal Medicine. It was during that time that I realized Internal Medicine is one of the most challenging and rewarding fields of practice. Patients often suffer from multiple interrelated symptoms and syndromes limiting the ability to enjoy a normal productive life, and I am so grateful to work as a part of an extraordinary health care team at Enloe medical center, committed to achieve the best quality patients centered care, and to ensure healing of the body, mind and spirit.
Chico is a very family-friendly place to live, a beautiful town with warm and welcoming people, with a vibrant downtown and the University that brings diversity, art and culture.
In my spare time. I love to travel because it takes me out of my comfort zone and it allows me to experience the world in a new way. I also enjoy watching movies, especially comedies, swimming, water sports, and playing poker.
You will never feel truly satisfied by work until you are satisfied with life.

I grew up in a rural community in Pennsylvania, and graduated from Skidmore College in upstate New York. After college, I went on to pursue a masters degree in public health at Portland State University. From there, I obtained my medical degree at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed my residency training at SUNY Buffalo. I moved to Chico, CA in 2018 to practice hospital medicine because of Enloe Medical Center’s strong hospitalist program with dedicated, caring, and hard-working physicians.
I am a long-standing member of both the American Medical Association and American College of Physicians, and recently obtained my certification in Medications for Addiction Treatment so that I could expand his treatment options for the most vulnerable in our society. I have quickly became engaged at Enloe, and have been serving on the Credentialing Committee since 2019.
In my spare time I enjoys reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors with my family. My wife and I have one son and another on the way. They feel fortunate to call Chico — a small, vibrant, and culturally diverse community — their home.

I am a north state local, being born and raised in Willows. After high school, I left to pursue my education which ultimately took me clear across the United States, with some time spent studying abroad. After being away for many years, I knew I wanted to be closer to home to practice medicine. I feel so fortunate that I was able to join and become a part of the Chico Hospitalist Group. We have a unique group of physicians who really care about providing quality care to our patients. Since starting my career, I have become a wife and a mother. In my time off, I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, traveling, and crafting.

Beginning my career as a rural primary care provider in South Dakota, I started with a broad range of responsibilities. A typical office day could include a rounding on hospital patients on the way to the clinic, then arriving to see a patient schedule with prenatal visits, pediatric care, an occasional walk in with a fracture or lacerations. After going to bed that night, my role would occasionally require getting up again in the middle of the night to deliver a baby or assist with a C-section. With two small toddlers and my wife with a career track that also included night call, it was only natural that I relocated my medical practice to Chico in 2004 where all our family members were much nearer, and some even in town.
When I joined the hospitalist group in 2008, Enloe was just starting its transformation to a Planetree Hospital. I spent a clinical rotation at a Planetree hospital in the 90’s and always knew that I’d like to be part of that model of care. I’ve watched our hospital grow and improve every year since joining our hospitalist group. Now with over 12 years behind me as a hospitalist, I still remember the challenges faced by primary care providers. I’m proud to be part of a team that is able to help patients through what may be their hardest times–while being mindful of the person as well as the illness, and the community as well as the hospital.

I was born and grew up in the state of Wisconsin, initially in the northern suburbs of Milwaukee along Lake Michigan. I then completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I played for their Division I soccer program for four years.
Medical school gave me a great excuse to explore the west coast and is where I met my wife (also a local Chico physician). While an enjoyable experience, the bay area was a bit crowded for our taste, therefore we ended up completing clinical rotations and residency in the Detroit area.
Once complete with training, Chico seemed like the perfect place to start practicing medicine in a small community, surrounded by colleagues with similar mindsets and a shared goal of supporting the health of the region. I am continually impressed with the culture of Enloe, both the clinical staff and on an administrative level. As the sole hospital in the region, we take pride in serving the North State. While continually dealing with numerous natural disasters, challenges faced by the local and global response to COVID-19, and working within the constraints of the national medical system, I cannot imagine working at a place with a more caring approach to its community.

I feel very fortunate to practice at Enloe Medical Center with physicians, nurses and other medical staff who all strive to provide excellent patient centered care. I am a proud Chico local. After graduating from Chico State, attending medical school in Chicago and completing my residency in the Bay Area, I knew I wanted to come back to Chico to practice medicine. In 2005 I started a private practice, while my wife and I designed and built our first and favorite 892 square foot house. When our daughter was born in 2007 I was ready for a career change. I joined the Chico Hospitalist Group in 2008 and it has been the best career decision I have ever made. I really enjoy working with the other hospitalists and appreciate the diverse patient population and challenging cases we see. For six years, I served as the groups Medical Director and am now the President and CEO. I am very proud to be a part of such an exceptional group that I feel is one of the best in the country.

I was born and raised in the East Bay, my parents came from Ireland. In my high school years I became acquainted with Chico, it called to me as great place to live, work and raise a family. My education took me to Ireland, England, then home I was very fortunate to join an Internal Medicine practice here in 1988. During the mid 1990’s changes were evident, Hospitals needed Hospitalists, a part time experience in 1995 turned into a full time opportunity in 2000. Myself and a few others started the Chico Hospitalist Group which has grown to over 20. It is a remarkable group of like minded people, morale has remained high with very little turn over.
Working as a Hospitalist at Enloe has been a perfect fit for me, the group is encouraging, hard working, and rich with clinical experience that keeps the standard of care as a number one priority.
Trained and Board Certified as a General Internist and have been recognized as Senior Fellow by the Society of Hospital Medicine as of 2015. My other work site interests include Hospital Staff Wellness, committee work and intervention.
Outside interests and activities:Travel, Music, Guitar, Surfing,Yoga and regular exercise, latest endeavor Ju-Jitsu, and of course family time in between.
I am proud to be part of this fine home grown success story. I feel supported, lucky and grateful.

I chose Chico because this was the type of town my wife and I wanted to raise our family. Having lived here during out undergraduate years we knew the lifestyle living in a small town affords. My wife teaches locally and we have two active kids that keep us busy. We love the outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing. When we aren’t running to basketball games, ballet classes or swim team we like to spent time in town going to the park, and farmer’s market.
